Daniel D. Pimental, 83, of Prairie Ave. Swansea, passed away on March 19, 2009 at Catholic Memorial Home. He was the husband of Dorothy (Furtado) Pimental, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, son of the late Diniz and Maria (Torres) Pimental. A WWII veteran of the US Navy, he lived in Hudson, MA from 1990 until moving to Swansea in 2002. Throughout his life, he enjoyed watching and playing sports, was considered a Red Sox fanatic by all who knew him and played soccer and volleyball for the former Young Nationals. He was an avid golfer and member of the Pine Valley Seniors and the former Montaup Country Club. He was the loving father of Daniel S. Pimental (fiancée Maureen) of Hudson, MA; grandfather of Douglas D. Pimental and leaves many nieces and nephews. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony Padua Church. Pallbearers Doug and Dan Pimental, Thomas Ferreira, Ken Silva, William Pereira and John Arruda brought Daniel to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
