Atty. Daniel L. Viveiros, 66, of Fall River, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday. He was the husband of Cathy Ann (Ainsworth) Viveiros, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Born in Fall River, son of the late Louis D. and Anita L. (Lescault) Viveiros. He served as Corporation Counsel for the City of Fall River from 1978-1981 and had a private law practice for 28 years. In 2002 he took leave of his legal career to pursue his interest in emergency medicine. He served as an EMT-Paramedic for 9 years before returning to the practice of law in 2011 as an Assistant District Attorney in Bristol County. Dan was a graduate of Monsignor Coyle High School, Providence College and Suffolk University Law School. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1970-1976 where he held the rank at separation of Sergeant E-5. Dan was a long time season ticket holder for the Boston Red Sox and enjoyed playing golf with Cathy. Besides his wife, survivors include his sons, Matthew M. Viveiros and Mark D. Viveiros, both of Fall River and his brother, Michael J. Viveiros of Fall River. A public visitation period took place in our Fall River Chapel on Wednesday, July 22nd. His funeral service and burial were private. Dan served as a Board Member and volunteer caregiver for Hospice Outreach, Inc from 1980-1986.
