David M.
Aguiar
d. Sep 19, 2022
David M. Aguiar, 56, of Fall River, husband of Maria Lurdes (Vieira) Aguiar, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a long illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of Iria M. (Aguiar) Aguiar and the late Manuel P. Aguiar.
Prior to his illness he worked as a machine operator in the construction industry for many years and was a member of Union Local 4. An avid Benfica and Miami Dolphins fan (his favorite player being Dan Marino), he also loved fishing, landscaping, and, in his younger days, playing soccer. Although always strong-willed and unapologetic, he was a very hard-working, loving, funny, and kind man with a huge heart. "Mordomo" for the Holy Ghost of 2009, he was also a member of the St. Anthony's and Conceicao Mosteirense Band Clubs. But what was most important to David was education and spending quality time with his family, especially his children. He was so very proud of them and their accomplishments.
Besides his devoted wife of thirty-two years, he leaves his loving children, Angela V. Aguiar of Fall River and David V. Aguiar of Denver, Colorado; his sister, Luisa Carreiro and her husband, Dorvalino, of Swansea; his brother, Manuel M. Aguiar and his wife, Maria of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Angela M. Aguiar.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, September 26th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in David's memory to: American Cancer Society, Centralized Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 1120, Framingham, MA 01701.
