David Botelho, 64, of Westport, passed away July 22 while vacationing in Portugal. Beloved husband of Laura (Lopes) Botelho. Born in Fall River, son of the late Eugene and Eliza (Tavares) Botelho. He retired from the state Bureau of Special Investigations several years ago. A graduate of Durfee, he starred in both baseball and football. He held a private pilot's license, taught fly fishing and enjoyed free lance photography. David was the beloved father of Sean Botelho, Lea Montalvo, Phillip and Melissa Goncalves; grandfather of Eliana and Tristen Montalvo; brother of Nancy Jordan and the late William "Bill" Botelho and uncle of Stacey Combs. His funeral Mass was celebrated in Our Lady of Grace Church. Pallbearers Sean Botelho, Phillip Goncalves, Mike Cortreal, Jeff Gifford, Dario Lopes and Mike Turgeon brought David to his final resting place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
