David R. Faria, Jr., 81, of Somerset, husband of Elaine (Viveiros) Faria, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in Morton Hospital, Taunton, after a short illness. Born in Fall River, the son of the late David R. Faria and the late Alice (Almeida) Faria Viveiros, he resided in Somerset most of his life.

A graduate of Monsignor Coyle High School, Taunton, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree from SMTI (now UMASS-Dartmouth). David was a U. S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam Era. His work history included employment at: Brian Supply, Providence; Arkwright Finishing Company, Fall River; Massachusetts Dept. of Developmental Services in the business and accounting areas; and UMASS Medical School-Revenue Operations, from which he retired in 2014. David was a communicant of St. John of God Church where he taught CCD for several years.

Besides his wife, of 49 years, he is survived by: three children, Leonard Faria (wife Sara) of Dighton, Pamela Ochoa (husband Jose) of Somerset, and Timothy Faria (wife Grace) of Somerset; a sister, Ann Marie Medeiros (husband Bruce) of Swansea; his five beloved grandchildren, Rachel, Anthony, Nathan, Elliana, and Nora; and several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 29th, at St. John of God Church in Somerset followed by his committal with military honors at St. Patrick Cemetery in Fall River.
