David Ferreira, age 85, of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away at home on Christmas Eve. He was the husband of June (St. Arnauld) Ferreira. Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Joseph Ferreira and the late Olga (Perreira) Ferreira. A resident of Fall River for most his life, he was employed for several years at the former Firestone Rubber Company following his discharge from the United States Navy. After Firestone closed David worked for many years as a parts maker at the former Haskon Aerospace Plant in Taunton and also worked as a custodian at the Swansea Mall upon retiring from Haskon. In addition to June, his wife of 64 years, surviving family members include his five children; David Ferreira of Southington, CT, Sandra Pierce of Acushnet, MA, Susan Ferreira and Frank Ferreira, both of Fall River, and Linda Farias of Tiverton, RI. He was the brother of Joseph Ferreira of Tiverton, Gilbert Ferreira of Somerset and Robert Ferreira of Fall River. He also leaves eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Delta White and the late Lorraine Ferreira. A Service of Remembrance was held on Monday, December 29, during a visitation period at our Fall River Chapel. His cremation was private.
