Obituary

David J. Hart, 73, of Wareham, passed away at Tobey Hospital on Thursday, April 23, 2020 after a brief illness.

Born in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late John B. Hart and the late Loretta (Jackson) Hart.

A United States Navy Veteran , he proudly served aboard the USS Boston during the Vietnam War. David was a kind and generous man who would give the "shirt off his back" to anyone in need.  He enjoyed the art of conversation and was blessed with a strong Irish wit.  In his younger days he was considered to be an excellent pool player, hence his nickname "Rack'em".

He leaves: his brother, John B. Hart, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Indiana; his two nephews, their wives, and their daughters who were David's caregivers, Michael A. Desmarais, his wife Jeanne, and daughters Sarah and Amanda of Somerset, and Matthew J. Desmarais, his wife Danielle, and daughter Isabella of Fall River; his niece, Shannon Johnson, her husband Michael, and children Chloe and Connor of Michigan; and nephews, John Hart, James Hart, and Benjamin Hart, all of Indiana. He was also the brother of the late Joyce H. Desmarais.

Due to the COVID pandemic, Dave was laid to rest on Tuesday, April 28th, with a private committal service at St. Patrick Cemetery.
