David E. Soares, 64, of Hollywood, CA, (formerly of Somerset, MA) passed away suddenly at home on Monday, January 3, 2022. Born in Fall River, a son of the late Edward M. Soares and the late Jacqueline T. (Bourdon) Soares. He was a graduate of Somerset High class of 1975. He then moved to California where he resided for over forty years.

He was employed as a banquet server at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey for many years, in addition to selling real estate in Fall River and Los Angeles. David was a devoted uncle to his four nieces and nephews and beloved by his many friends and co-workers. He enjoyed traveling, playing golf and was an avid fan of all sports, especially football.

He is survived by two siblings, Elizabeth A. Mahoney and her husband Paul of Berkley and Edward J. Soares and his wife Elizabeth of Weston, MA, and four nieces and nephews, Andrew, Michael & Alyssa Mahoney, and Lily Soares.

A private funeral was held on Saturday, January 22nd with a committal service and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum in Fall River. A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later time in Massachusetts and Los Angeles. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice in remembrance of David.
