Dean DaCosta, 56, of Fall River, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 31, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Marilyn (Pimental) DaCosta of Tiverton, and Antonio DaCosta, Jr. and his wife, Grazyna of Westport.
He also leaves his children, Dean DaCosta, Jr., and his fiancé, Kely Smith, of Westport, and Victoria DaCosta and her companion, Brenton, of Green Cove Springs, Florida; his grandchildren, Eliza DaCosta, Lincoln DaCosta, and Everly Horne; his sisters, Lisa DaCosta Barbosa (late husband, Paul) and Tracy DaCosta and her wife, Sherilyn Vieira, both of Fall River; one brother, Antonio DaCosta, III, of Fall River; his former wife, Charlene DaCosta Smith; and several nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was also the long-time companion of Donna Petrasso of Fall River.
He worked as a truck driver for local trucking companies for many years. An avid New England Sports fan, he also loved fishing, cooking, and watching classic Westerns. He enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the United States. But most notably, Dean had a "heart of gold" and was always willing to help anyone in need.
His private funeral was held on Wednesday, February 9th, with a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by a private committal at Pocasset Hill Cemetery in Tiverton. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in Dean's memory to: SSTAR, 386 Stanley St., Fall River, MA 02720.
