Dean Warren Melcher, MSG (Ret), 58 of Tiverton, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 13, 2015. Dean was the son of the late George S. and Eleanor Melcher. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Nancy A. Melcher, three sons George S. Melcher, Dana W. Melcher, and Dean W. Melcher I, all of Tiverton; three brothers, Dennis W. Melcher, and Darryl W. Melcher, both of Somerset MA, Dwayne W. Melcher of Charlestown, MA, and one sister Dianne W. Melcher Norris of Rexburg, ID. On his wife's side he leaves his mother-in-law Hyson Roth Cromer, of Gainesville FL, sister-in-laws Kathryn Wright (Jeffrey), Debra Roth, Sally Roth Henderson of Columbus, GA and many nieces and nephews.

MSG Dean W. Melcher retired with a distinguished Military career after 24 years of service in the United States Army, receiving numerous commendations and awards. After his retirement, Dean was employed with the United States Postal Service, as a Rural Letter Carrier. He also proudly served as the District representative for the National Rural Letter Carrier's Association, and Vice President of the Rural Letter Carriers' of Rhode Island. Dean was devoted to his family and had a passion for propagating roses.

A Memorial service was held on Sunday, March 15th, in our Fall River Chapel. MSG Melcher's committal and burial with full military honors was held at Arlington National Cemetery, on Wednesday, April 15th.
