Deborah L. (Farias) Silveira, age 52, passed away unexpectedly at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River on November 13, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Fernando M. Silveira of Assonet, Massachusetts. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of George M. Farias of Bristol, Rhode Island and Alfreda Farias of North Providence, Rhode Island. A resident of Assonet since 1986, she owned and operated Tony's Restaurant in Fall River with her husband. Debbie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a tireless advocate for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and an avid New England sports fan, who especially enjoyed the Red Sox and Patriots. In addition to her husband, Fernando, surviving family members include her children, Anthony Silveira and Devin Silveira, both of Assonet, her grandson, Logan 'Boo' Medeiros, two brothers, Brother William Farias of Providence, and Thomas Drzal of North Providence, a sister, Jacqueline McKane of Fall River, three nieces: Dawn, Debra, Alicia, and her nephew Jordan. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Bernard Church in Assonet.
