Delores E. Vieira, 86, of Somerset, loving wife of Lawrence Vieira for 54 years, passed away at home on June 12, 2019, after a long courageous battle with renal failure. Born in Fall River, the youngest daughter of the late Manuel and Rose (Andrade) Amaral, she was a special education teacher and a special needs coordinator at Head Start of Fall River for many years, prior to her retirement – having earned her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Bridgewater State College, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Preceding her employment in education she was the office manager at Stella Ann Frocks formerly of Fall River. She was an avid reader and loved watching movies of historical content and also enjoyed a good "ole" western or a "who done it" mystery. Delores and her husband enjoyed their many trips to Foxwoods.

Mother of Karen Emmett, of Long Beach, CA, and the late Bruce Emmett, Delores also leaves a brother, George Amaral of Somerset, and several nieces and nephews. She was the youngest sister of the late Rose (Amaral) Souza, Alice (Amaral) Morin, Hilda (Amaral) Levesque and Elsie (Amaral) Ward.

Following her cremation, Her Memorial Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, July 6th, in St John of God Church, Somerset. Her cremains were buried in her family plot at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Somerset.
