Delphine (Lafleur) Sanchez, age 99, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012, at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, following an illness. A resident of Tiverton, Rhode Island, since 1953, she was the widow of Ciriaco Sanchez. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Arthur Lafleur and the late Delia (Potvin) Lafleur. Delphine was educated in the Fall River School System and labored for many years in the textile trade of this city, retiring form the former Settlow's. She was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union, now UNITE, and was a member of the Senior Citizens Club of Fall River and served as their Treasurer for many years. Delphine was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Church in Tiverton and enjoyed playing bingo and family gatherings on Friday nights. Surviving family members include two daughters; Sandra Sanchez of North Tiverton, and Barbara (Sanchez) Pacheco, husband John, of Fall River, a son, Philip Sanchez, wife Janice, of Swansea, MA, a brother, Raymond Lafleur of Fall River, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alice (Lafleur) Ouelette, Bertha (Lafleur) Arruda, Arthur Lafleur, Norman Lafleur and Roland Lafleur. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on February 29, 2012 in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton, followed by a committal service at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
