Deolinda C. Castro, 75, of Fall River, passed away on August 8, 2009. She was the wife of Mario A. Castro, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. Born in Mondim de Basto, Portugal, daughter of the late Alvaro and Maria C. (Peneda) Carvalho. A Fall River resident since 1971, she worked for the former Paroma Draperies, Inc. and more recently she worked in housekeeping at Crawford Nursing Home. She greatly enjoyed gardening. Survivors include sons, Joe Mario Castro and Alvaro M. Castro, both of Fall River, Alcino J. Castro of Assonet and Joao C. Castro of Attleboro; daughters, Maria Irene Cadman of Norwell, MA and Rosa Castro-Krawiec of Scituate, MA; 2 brothers and 1 sister, all living in Portugal; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers Joe, Al, Alcino, John Joey and Jonathan Castro brought Deolinda to her final resting place at Oak Grove Cemetery.
