Deolinda “Linda” M. Silva, 65, beloved wife of the late Deodato J. Silva, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Fall River, Deolinda was the cherished daughter of the late Edward Pereira and the late Virginia (Barreira) Pereira.

Deolinda dedicated many years of service to the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services, where she built lasting friendships and took pride in helping others. Prior to that, she spent more than twenty-five years as the Office Manager of her family’s businesses, E & V Realty Trust and Edward Pereira & Son, Inc., where her dedication, organization, and unwavering work ethic helped support the family business for decades.

In her younger years, Deolinda practiced Taki Gawa Judo alongside her brother, a memory they both looked back on with pride throughout their lives.

Deolinda found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved traveling, taking long drives to Cape Cod, and spending peaceful days by the ocean. The beach was her happy place, a place where she felt most at peace and where she created countless memories with the people she loved most. Her love for the Cape became a gift she passed on to her family, making every summer an adventure and every Christmas by the sea a tradition they will forever treasure.

She had a passion for dancing, concerts, gardening, theater, cooking, baking, shopping, and listening to music of every genre. She had an incredible ear for music and could name a song and its artist after hearing only a few seconds. Her home was often filled with the sound of a favorite song, the smell of something baking in the oven, and, most of all, the warmth of her beautiful laugh.

Above all else, Deolinda was a devoted wife, mother, Vavó, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by her family. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and especially loved cheering on Layla from the sidelines at her soccer games, rarely missing the opportunity to watch her play. She also nurtured Chaeli’s love of the performing arts, inspiring the passion for theater that continues to this day. Whether she was caring for her grandchildren, preparing a home-cooked meal, or simply spending time together, those were the moments she cherished most. Her kindness, gentle spirit, unconditional love, and selfless heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her beyond words, her daughter, Aislynne Venancio and her husband, Michael, of Somerset; her son, Nathan Silva and his fiancée, Kylie Tavares, of Acushnet; her adored grandchildren, Chaeli, Layla, Julian, Tatum, and Aiden; her brother, Antone C. Pereira and his wife, Maria Fatima, of East Providence, Rhode Island; along with her cherished nieces and nephew, Noah, McKenzie, and Brianna.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation at Silva-Faria Somerset Funeral Home, 84 County Street, Somerset, on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. John of God Church, 1036 Brayton Avenue, Somerset, Massachusetts.

Deolinda’s greatest accomplishment wasn’t measured by the work she did, but by the family she loved and the life she built. The traditions she created, the values she instilled, and the memories she gave us will be carried forward for generations. Every walk along the beach, every drive to the Cape, and every ocean sunset will forever remind us of her.
