Deolinda "Linda" Silvia, 80, of Fall River, died Tuesday 12/16/08 at Kindred Hospital, Stoughton after a long illness. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Antonio & Maria Lia (Carvalho) Silvia, she was a lifelong resident of Fall River. She had worked at the former F.R. Knitting Mills for many years. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Sister of Sr. Maria Silva of No. Providence, RI, Olivia Santos Dion of Fall River, and the late Manuel "Curly" Silvia (his wife-Mickey Silvia of Fall River). Also survived by: nephew Michael Santos (his wife-Kathy) of Fall River; niece & godchild Gail Silvia and niece Joyce Cookinham both of Westport; 3 grand nieces, Jaime Santos, Holly Miranda (husband-David) & Tammy Furtado (husband-Eddy); 4 great grand nieces, Hayley, McKenna & Kyla Miranda and Talisha Cookinham; 1 great grand nephew, Eddy Furtado Jr. Her Funeral Mass was offered on Friday (12/19) in Espirito Santo Church with a committal service following at St. Patrick Cemetery.
