Diana R. (Mello) Rodrigues, age 95, passed away at the Highlander Nursing Center in Fall River on Tuesday, October 6, 2009. She was the widow of William Medeiros Rodrigues. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Mello and the late Maria (Botelho) Mello. A lifelong resident of Fall River, she was employed in the garment trade as a trimmer for many years at the former Stella-Anne Frocks in Fall River. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (now UNITE). Diana was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a former member of their Ladies Guild. Surviving family members include her son, William M. Rodrigues, Jr. of Providence, Rhode Island, a sister, Albertina Farias of Fall River, three grandchildren, Melissa Rodrigues and David Rodrigues, both of Swansea, and Michael Rodrigues of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, three great grandchildren, Barbara Domingos, Sarah Rodrigues, and Cameron Rodrigues, all of Swansea, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Mello, Antone Mello, Emily Oliveira, Mary Furtado, Alice Linhares and Rose Costa. Her Funeral Mass was offerred on Friday, October 9, in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Committal services followed at Notre Dame Cemetery.
