Dimas Amaral, 58, husband of Debra (Sylvia) Amaral, of North Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Fall River, he was the son of Alice (Borges) Amaral and the late Armando R. Amaral. An avid sportsfan, he enjoyed watching the Patriots and Bruins. He was an expert "jack-of-all trades" who could repair or build just about anything. Dimas loved to make people laugh, Sunday cookouts, and, most importantly, his family who meant the world to him. Besides his wife of thirty-six years, he leaves his sons: Jared D. Amaral and his wife Rachel Degroot of Fall River and Derek R. Amaral and his wife Jennifer of North Dartmouth; his four grandchildren: Alexia Paiva, Kylee Amaral, Gavin Amaral, and Zoey Amaral; sisters: Theresa Arruda and her husband John and Linda Raposo and her husband Jock of Fall River; brothers: Armand Amaral, Edward Amaral and his wife Pheobe, and Jorge Amaral and his wife Natalie of Fall River; and many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, September 27th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
