Diniz J. Fernandes, 91, of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Alvira (Rondina) Fernandes. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, he was the son of the late Antonio Fernandes Dos Reis and Maria Do Carmo Fernandes. He was a machine operator for many years at Quaker Fabric. Diniz enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Besides his wife of 63 years, he is survived by: his three daughters, Lolita Fernandes, Christine Botelho and her husband John both of Fall River, and Brendalee Racine and her husband Daniel of Swansea; 4 grandchildren, Sarah Botelho, John Christopher Botelho, Delaney Racine and Samuel Racine; a sister, Paulina Faria of Canada and 3 nieces. He was the father of the late Maria da Fatima Fernandes.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, December 7th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
