Diniz M. Machado, 73, of Fall River, husband of Regina C. (Botelho) Machado, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, after an illness. Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, a son of the late Manuel S. Machado and the late Maria (Miranda) Machado, he was raised in Brazil and emigrated to Fall River in 1972.

He was employed at the former Plymouth Rubber for many years, retiring when they closed in 2007. A soccer fan, Benfica was his favorite team. Diniz enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with family.

Besides his wife, of 41 years, he is survived by: three children, Kelly Ann Sousa (husband John), Ashley Lynn Machado, and Gary Machado all of Fall River; seven siblings, Maria M Maia of Fall River, Manuel Machado, Jr. of Stoughton, MA, Joao Machado of Fall River, Rose Marie Rosario of Somerset, Izilda Svedine, Joseph Machado, and Adeline Cabral all of Fall River; five grandchildren, Jadyn, Destiny, Gavin, Faith, and Noralyn; and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 17th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
