Obituary

Dolores P. Miranda, 92, of Somerset, wife of Arthur L. Miranda, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at St. Anne's Hospital. Born in Tiverton, RI, a daughter of the late Refino Furtado and the late Georgelina "Rosaline" (Amaral) Furtado, she was a resident of Somerset for most of her life.

She worked in the local textile industry for many years, retiring in 1998 from Aberdeen, formerly Louis Hand, and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) now called UNITE. She enjoyed singing in the choir at St. John of God Church, playing bingo and watching her beloved Red Sox.

Besides her husband, of 67 years, she is survived by: two children, Cheryl L. Miranda of Somerset, and Bruce A. Miranda of Rehoboth; two siblings, Priscilla Furtado of Fall River and Richard Furtado of Tiverton; a grandson, Ryan Miranda; and several nieces and nephews. She was also a sister of the late Lydia Furtado.

Following a private cremation, a prayer service was held on Thursday, January 26th, during a visitation period in our Somerset Chapel.
