Obituary

Dolores Veloza, 91, of Fall River, widow of Henry V. Veloza, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Carvalho Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John Santos and the late Ana (Viveiros) Santos.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress for many years. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (ILGWU) now called UNITE.

Dolores enjoyed travelling throughout the years with her family. She loved dancing, spending time at the beach, and day trips to the casino. She was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus-Columbiettes and the Royal Travelers.

Dolores will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandparent

She is survived by: a daughter, Cindy Araujo (husband William) of Fall River; five grandchildren, Jennifer Russell (husband Mark), Stephanie Pereira, Amanda Nardi (husband Chris), Keith Araujo (wife Ana), and Rachel Perrella (husband Dewey); eleven great grandchildren, Jessica, Matthew, Joshua, Samantha, Keiana, Jackson, Ryan, Hannah, Vincent, Charlotte, and Henry; and several nieces and nephews. Dolores was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Cates (late husband Brian), and a brother, Alfred Santos.

The Family would like to thank the staff at Carvalho Grove for the exceptional care and compassion Dolores received while residing there.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, June 20th, in Our Lady of Fall River Catholic Community's Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
