Donald J. Bernier, 76, of Raynham, passed away on Wednesday at Longmeadow of Taunton, surrounded by his family after a lengthy period of failing health. Born in Westport, he was a son of the late Adelard & Lillian (Sexton) Bernier. Prior to his retirement, Donald worked as a TV repairman, construction worker and machinist at Brookfield Engineering. He enjoyed being with family, fishing, clam boils, traveling to Florida, playing cards and watching the Red Sox and Patriots games. Besides his fiancée, Betsy Esters, he was the loving father of Donna Corvello (husband – David) of Swansea and David Bernier (wife – Margaret) of Swansea; father of the late Susan Cabral and Donald J. Bernier, Jr.; brother of Alan Bernier of Fall River, Joyce Brodeur of Florida, Pauline Lambert of Florida and the late Anita Shapiro; grandchildren, Courtney Doyle, Aaron Corvello, Ashley, Lynsey and Allison Bernier, Eric, Joe, Kyle and Christopher Cabral. He also leaves several great grandchildren along with a beloved niece, Deborah Gibson of West Virginia. His funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was laid to rest at St. Patrick Cemetery.
