Donald E. Mays, 90, of Fall River, husband of Theresa (DiCorpo) Mays and the late Marion (Perry) Mays, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Grampion, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Grace (Farley) Mays. He worked as an electrician for Brown University for many years prior to his retirement. A Veteran of the Navy, he served in WWII, Korean, Vietnam. Donald was a member of the Elks, VFW, and former president of the Portuguese American Athletic Club. He was also very active in Veteran affairs, especially the annual clamboils which he very much enjoyed. He loved golfing and playing horseshoes, becoming champion on many occasions. Besides his wife, he leaves: his children, Donald B. Mays and his wife Geraldine of Somerset, and Tammy Estrela and her husband Mike of Dighton; stepchildren, Lawrence Silva and his wife Mariah of Bridgewater, Susan Ferreira and her husband Joseph of N.C., and Phyllis Paquette of Fall River; six grandchildren, Holly Gentile, Lee Mays, Tiffany and Brittany Rodrigues, Aaron Silva, and Jessica Face; eight great-grandchildren, Jasmin Pollard, Domenic Gentile, Brennen Sullivan, Briana Tate, Makaila Silva, Nicholas Cordeiro, Joshua and Logan Face; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Robert, Raymond, Paul, Ralph, Boyd, and Billy Mays, Bertha McCarty, Ruth and Betty Mays. His Funeral Service was held
on Friday, December 22nd,
in Fall River Chapel followed by his committal with Military Honors at St. Patrick Cemetery.
