Donald Rioux, 88, of Fall River, MA passed away in his home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

Husband of the late Ida (Medeiros) Rioux for 67 years, his life was full of family, faith, food, and love. Donald pursued many interests. He was a wood carver and delighted in making beautiful and useful gifts for people. A favorite and constant pastime was cooking for and with his family. Always involved with his church community, he served as a Eucharist Minister and was a recipient of the Marian Medal. Donald was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a proud member of the National Guard.

He is survived by his four children and their families: Dr. Stephen Rioux and his wife, Susan, of Scarborough, ME, Dr. David Rioux and his wife, Catherine, of Machias, ME, Paul Rioux of Fall River, MA, and Barbara Rioux Vye and her husband, David, of Newburyport, MA. Donald and Ida were blessed with ten grandchildren: Luke Rioux and his wife, Cary Phoenix, of Yarmouth, ME, Lauren Rioux and her husband, Sten Havumaki, of Scarborough, ME, Mikaela Rioux of San Francisco, Brenton Rioux and his partner, Amy Downer, of Hollis, ME, Cicelea Rioux of Hebron, CT, Clayton Vye of Newburyport, MA, Maxwell Vye of Denver, CO, Margaux Rioux of Boston, MA, Thomas Rioux of Scarborough, Maine, Julian Vye of Boston, MA and four great grandchildren: Charlotte and Axel Rioux of Yarmouth, and Oscar and Caroline Havumaki of Scarborough. The son of the late Ovide and Albertine (Cardin) Rioux, Donald was the youngest of fourteen children. His siblings, their spouses, and his nieces and nephews provided Donald with joy and support throughout the years. He was the brother of the late Ovila, Alphege, Albert and Conrad Rioux, Annette Leveille, Bertha Pineault, Eva Bernier, Lorraine Brodeur, Orize Carpenter, Yvette Vezina, Doris Lamonde, Yvonne Renaud-Raiche and Aline Larrivee. Donald has also been surrounded with love from a very large and generous Medeiros family.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday, April 7th, in Holy Name Church, followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
