Born in Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, only child of Manuel Rego, of Fall River, and the late Maria (Melo) Rego, she emigrated to Fall River in 1985.

An elementary school teacher for many years, Dora taught at Espirito Santo Parochial School for 14 years, having just started teaching in Fall River for the past year. She had also taught in Westport, Somerset and Swansea for a total of 10 years prior to that.

With a love of life and all its varied experiences, Dora enjoyed socializing with family and friends. She also loved picture-taking and making memories, through trips, outings, and playdates with the kids.

Besides her husband, Dora is survived by her two young children, Elijah John ("E.J.") and Gianna Maria, and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, June 9th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dora's memory to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
