Obituary

Doris DeCosta, 85, of Somerset, wife of the late Antone T. DeCosta, Jr., passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, May 8, 2020 after a long illness.

Born in Fall River, MA, she was the last of seven children born to the late Ernest and Adele (Canuil) Boisvert.

Prior to her retirement, she was a clerk at the Bristol County Juvenile Court for over thirty years. A long-time parishioner of St. Louis de France Church, where Doris, in her younger days, also taught CCD. She will be remembered as a wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to cook for and spend time with her family.

Doris' family would like to extend their gratitude for the exceptional care their Mom received from Accent Hospice Care during her last days.

She leaves: her loving sons, Steven DeCosta and his wife, Sandra, of Somerset, Michael DeCosta and his wife, Michelle, of Fall River, and Matthew DeCosta and his wife, Tammy, of Little Compton; her daughter-in-law, Lisa (Lasalle) DeCosta; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Doris was also the mother of the late David T. DeCosta.

Due to the COVID pandemic, Doris was laid to rest on Wednesday, March 13th, with a private committal service at St. Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
