Dorothy A. Quental, 84, of Fall River and formerly of Somerset, passed away on Friday, October 1st, at the Catholic Memorial Home. Wife of the late Arthur Quental. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Alfred and Isabelle (Silvia) Vasconcellos. Dorothy was a graduate of Durfee High School, Class of 1944. She worked as a librarian at UMass Dartmouth until her retirement in 1995 and was a member of professional librarian organizations. Prior to her time at UMass, she worked for various local insurance companies and at Angie's Fashions in Fall River. A parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish Church, she was a member of the Jollies. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Survivors include children, Gregory Quental (wife – Carole) of Southport, CT, Lisa Quental of Fall River and Kimberly Quental (husband – Adam Robitaille) of Pawtucket, RI; siblings, Frank Vasconcellos of St. Petersburg, FL and Mary Moreau of Fall River; grandchildren, Chelsea LeMaire, Morgan Quental and Drake Quental; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Michael A. Quental and sister of the late Angelina Fecteau, Alfred Vasconcellos and Ed Vasconcellos. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at Holy Trinity Parish Church She was laid to rest at Notre Dame Mausoleum.
