Dorothy A. Serrato, 87, of Fall River, entered into heaven on Sunday, ascending to join her husband Florencio R. Serrato. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late John W. and Anna (Ferry) Charette. For 29 years, she was the switchboard operator for the Fall River Police Department, having reluctantly retired at the age of 76. Dorothy was a member of the Fall River Emblem Club, #29, the Melody Club for Seniors and was known for being highly outgoing and loved being active on her Facebook page. Survivors include her daughter Carol Fraile (husband Richard) of Fall River; sisters Anna M. Cloutier of Fall River and Marie Correia of North Carolina; grandchildren, Andrea A. Cardoza and Rachel J. Sardinha; great grandchildren, Adrian Sardinha and Vivian Sardinha; and several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Francis P. "Butch", John W. and William R. Charette. Her funeral Mass was celebrated On Friday, January 25, 2013. at St. Joseph Church. She was laid to rest at St. Patrick Cemetery.
