Dorothy (Rita) Souza, 89, of Somerset, wife of the late Antone A. Souza, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at home surrounded by her family. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel Rita and the late Antonia (Rego) Rita.

Dorothy was a homemaker. She loved cooking, being outside and working in her garden.

She leaves her daughter, Sandra Souza, of Somerset; two grandchildren; and her sister Irene Sleboda, of Pawtucket, RI; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her siblings Manuel Rita, Edward Rita, Olive Rego, and Elizabeth Ferreira.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Visitation on Friday, May 29th, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Silva-Faria Somerset Funeral Home, 84 County Street, Somerset, MA, followed by a service at 10:00 a.m. in the Silva-Faria Somerset Funeral Home, 84 County Street, Somerset, MA.  Committal Service and interment will follow in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset.
