Obituary

Durvalino F. Pacheco, 67, of Fall River, husband of Geraldine (Mota) Pacheco, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 23, 2024 in the comforts of his home following a brief illness. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Jose DeCosta Pacheco and the late Gilda (DeFrias) Costa Pacheco.

Prior to his retirement he worked for Tillotson Pearson Inc. for many years. He loved cooking for his family, gardening, and making his own wine. An avid Benfica fan, he also enjoyed fishing and tending to his grapevines. Most notably, Durvalino was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and was always willing and eager to help anyone in need.

Besides his loving wife of forty-four years, he leaves his children, Michael M. Pacheco and his long-time companion, Elizabeth Powers, Dennis J. Pacheco, Stacey M. Pacheco and her long-time companion, Justin Mayo, all of Fall River, and Lisa M. Medeiros and her husband, Kevin, of Rehoboth; his ten grandchildren, Alexya Mayo, Aiden Mayo, Noah Pacheco, Avery Pacheco, Easton Medeiros, Lilliana Pacheco, Serena Pacheco, Caleb Medeiros, Harmony Pacheco, and Melody Pacheco; sister, Gilda Melo (late husband, Manuel Jose) of Canada; one brother, Gabriel Costa and his wife, Manuela, of the Azores; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Jose Luis, Joao, Estrela, Zita, and Liberta.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, May 28th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church. His private cremation followed.
