Edith May Albernaz, 79, formerly of Barlow St, passed away December 24, 2009 after a long illness. Widow of Manuel Albernaz. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Manuel & Margaret (Wood) Torres. A retired textile worker, she was a member of ILGWU (now UNITE). She enjoyed duckpin bowling, country line dancing and bingo. After retirement, she was a home health aide through VNA for several years. Edith was a loving mother of Joseph, Michael and John Albernaz, Margaret Mello and Joanne Pankowski; sister of Richard Torres and the late Ruth C. Torres. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Theresa Church in Tiverton, Rhode Island. Committal Service was held at St Patrick Cemetery.
