Jean worked in the Fall River Assessor's office for over 30 years, retiring as head clerk in the late 1990s. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and her home.

She is survived by: two daughters, Cynthia Stelmar (husband Scott) of Braselton, GA, and Catherine Gonsalves (fiancé V. J. Maxwell) of Columbus, OH; a grandson, Nathan Gonsalves, who was her pride and joy; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Eileen Borges.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Tuesday, January 18th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider making a donation in Jean's memory to: Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd, Waltham, MA 02452; 800-272-3900; https://www.alz.org/ or, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; 800-805-5856; https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html
