Eduarda M. Costa, 70, of Fall River and wife of Antero Costa, passed away peacefully on Monday, September, 27, 2021 in the comforts of her home after a long illness. Born in Nordeste, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Adorico Melo and the late Maria do Espirito Santo (Mota) Melo.

Prior to her retirement, she was a machine operator in the local textile industry for several years. In her younger years, Eduarda was also a hairdresser. She loved cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with her family.  A devout Roman Catholic, Eduarda faithfully attended Mass and taught CCD at Santo Christo Parish for many years. A selfless, kind, and giving woman, she was also a caregiver for many of her family members over the years.

Besides her loving husband of fifty-one years, she leaves: her children, Richard N. Costa and his wife, Anna, and Laurie A. Costa, both of Fall River; her three grandchildren, Bradford James Costa, Vanessa Ann Costa, and Dylan Michael Costa; her three brothers, Gilbert Melo (late wife Marcelina) of Fall River, Oliver Melo of Westport, and Odorico Melo of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Octavio Melo.

Eduarda's private funeral was held on Thursday, September 30th, with Her Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by her committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
