Eduarda "Edie" M. Travassos, 47, of Fall River, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, following a courageous battle with a rare illness, Pulmonary Hypertension/HHT. She was the wife of Carlos M. Travassos, with whom she shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Santa Barbara, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel P. and Ilda (Viveiros) Botelho. After receiving her CNA from Fisher College, Edie worked for 16 years at St. Anne's Hospital. Besides her husband Carlos, survivors include her loving children, Jessica Travassos, Joshua Travassos and Amanda Travassos, all of Fall River; her brothers, Manny Botelho, Jose Luis Botelho, Mario Botelho, all of Fall River; her sisters, Conceicao Magalhes, of Terceira, Azores, Ana Santos and Fatima Machado, both of Fall River; beloved granddaughters, Serenity Travassos and Scarlett Ferreira; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, October 19th, in Santo Christo Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
