Obituary

Eduardo S. Cura, 65, of Westport, husband of Tasiana (Cabral) Cura, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, August 9, 2020 after a long illness.

Born in Vila Franca, St. Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Joao Padre Cura and the late Maria da Trindade (Pacheco) Padre Cura.

Prior to his illness he was a Supervisor at Quaker Fabric Corporation for many years. He loved fishing, soccer, and learning just about anything. Eduardo also enjoyed traveling extensively to such places as Italy, Portugal, Vegas, Florida, and Hawaii. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he considered his family to be most important; always spending  quality time with all of them, especially his grandson, Nixon.

Besides his loving wife of forty-three years, he leaves: his children, Shawn Cura of Tampa, Florida, and Sharon Cura of Fall River; his grandson, Nixon Pavao; four sisters, Margarida Silva and Madalena Batista, both of New Bedford, and Lucia Pires and Santo Cristo Oliveira, both of Portugal; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Joao Cura.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, August 13th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
