Eduino Da
Camara
d. Dec 1, 2025
Eduino Da Camara, 89, of Fall River, husband of Mary Honorina (Medeiros) Da Camara, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Charlton Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Agua d'Alto, St, Michael, Azores, he was a son of the late Mariano Da Camara and the late Jesuina (Frias) Da Camara.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for a local boat building company for many years. An avid Sporting fan, he also loved fishing, playing cards/games, his pets, and traveling to such places as Bermuda, Florida, Canada, Lisbon, and back to his homeland in the Azores to visit family. Aside from being a bit of a "jokester", he was a devout Catholic, faithfully attended Mass, and prayed the rosary daily. He also served as sexton for Santo Christo Church and humbly received the Marian Medal in 2006. He was a long-time member of the Holy Ghost Feast Committee, the Knights of Columbus, and a dedicated Boy Scout Leader. Most importantly, Eduino loved his family dearly and relished the quality time he spent with all of them, especially his grandchildren.
Besides his devoted wife of fifty-nine years, he leaves his loving children, Anne Marie Botelho and her companion, Frank Meireles, of Swansea, Manny Da Camara and his wife, Amber, of Somerset, Paul Da Camara and his wife, Anna, Brian Da Camara and his wife, Suzanne, Joseph Da Camara and his wife, Katie, and George Da Camara and his wife, Melanie, all of Fall River; his fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Julieta Simas (late husband, Manuel) of Bermuda, and Eduarda Frias and her husband, Jose, of the Azores; one brother, Jorge Camara and his wife, Estrela, of Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
The family of Eduino Da Camara would like to acknowledge Southcoast Oncology led by Dr. Seng and her staff as well the Moran Unit for the exceptional care he received during his stay.
His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, December 5th, in Santo Christo Church followed by his committal at St. Patrick Cemetery.
