Edward Furtado, 81, of New York City, formerly of Fall River, passed away on December 6th, 2012. Born in Cambridge, MA, son of the late James & Guilhermina (Araujo) Furtado. A Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Edward had a 47 year career with Louis Hand, retiring as the assistant to the president. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed traveling. Edward is survived by his brother, Thomas Furtado (wife - Bernadette) of North Dighton; nephews, Thomas Furtado (wife - Ellen) of Taunton and Edward Pedro of Fall River; nieces, Cheryl Furtado of North Dighton and Susan Pedro of Fall River. He was also brother of the late Dorothy Pedro. His cremation was private. A Memorial Mass was celebrated on Saturday, May 25, in St. Anthony of Padua Church.
