Edward "Coach" Hallal, 86, of Swansea, passed away Monday peacefully at home. Husband of the late Alice (Boulas) Hallal. Born in Clifton, NJ, son of the late Bshara and Mary (Asea) Hallal. An Air Force Veteran of WWII, where he played in the band, Ed was an electrical engineer at the Naval Underwater Systems Center in Newport. An active member of the Fall River Boys Club, Senior division, Coach enjoyed gardening and cooking for family and friends. Beloved father of Michael P. Hallal, David P. Hallal and his wife Joy from Swansea; grandfather of Kathryn Hallal; brother of George "Oop" Hallal of Pensacola, FL, William Hallal and his wife Juliann of Fall River and the late John, Birdie, James, Thomas and Alfred Hallal, Mary Lou Sabra and Josephine Pacheco. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 18, in St. Anthony of the Desert Church followed by his committal with military honors at St. Patrick Cemetery.
