Elaine Rutkowski, 84, of Fall River, widow of Ronald A. Rutkowski, passed away on April 26, 2023, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Mariano S. Bishop and the late Mary (Souza) Bishop, she was a Class of 1956 BMC Durfee High School graduate and a lifelong Fall River resident.

Prior to her retirement in 2004, Elaine had worked as a secretary for the City of Fall River law department and was also employed for a time as a mayoral aide in the mayor's office. She had enjoyed participating in the City of Fall River's bowling league, loved going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by: two children, Stephanie Jeffrey (husband Wayne) of Fall River and Ronald L. Rutkowski of Fall River; three grandchildren, Samantha Jeffrey, Ashton Rutkowski, and Madison Rutkowski; a great grandson, Kellan Jeffrey; and several nieces and nephews. Elaine was also the sister of the late Doris Desrosiers and Arlene Benevides.

Her Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, May 3rd, in our Fall River Chapel followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Elaine's memory to Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Road, Suite 120, Fairhaven, MA 02719; 508-973-3200.
