Eleanor E. Silvia, age 91, a lifelong Somerset resident, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, March 9, 2016. She was the widow of Edward Rego Silvia. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Joseph DeMello and the late Norberta (Gonsalves) DeMello. Eleanor was the proprietor of Clearview Farm of Somerset. Surviving family members include her son, Edward L. Silvia (wife Mary-Jane), her daughter, Elaine Velozo (husband Henry), five grandchildren; Katie Velozo, Jonathan Velozo, Amy Velozo, Sarah Nunes and Elizabeth Frary, and two great grandchildren, Emmett and Ethan. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, March 14th, in St Patrick Church, Somerset followed by her committal at St Patrick Cemetery also in Somerset.
