Elizabeth A. Xavier, 84, of Fall River, passed away quietly at home on October 4, 2009 after an extended illness. She was the wife of Joseph Xavier, with whom she shared 66 years of marriage. Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Ursula (Ferreira) Viveiros. Elizabeth and Joseph were the founders of Xavier's Florist. She enjoyed crafts and sewing. Survivors include sons, Ronald M. Xavier and Kenneth J. Xavier, both of Dartmouth and Eric J. Xavier of Fall River; a daughter, Patricia A. Tremblay of Fall River; a brother, John Viveiros of Fall River; a sister, Alice Carvara of Fall River; grandchildren, Jodie, Shawn, Cara, Avery, Kelcie, Stephen, Meagan, Eric Jr. and Ashley; great grandchildren, Sydney, Ella and Bennett; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Manuel Viveiros, Joseph Viveiros and Jessie Viveiros. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Trinity Parish Church on Wednesday (10/7) followed by a committal service at Notre Dame Cemetery. Her pallbearers were Shawn and Eric Xavier, Raymond Carvara, Randy Benevides, John Plouffe and Jeff Morais brought Elizabeth to her final resting place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
