Elsie Souza, 87, of Tiverton, widow of Jose Souza, died Sunday 1/25/15 at R.I. Hospital. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Vincent & Anna (Goncalo) Lopes, she was a Tiverton resident for most of her life. She had worked for many years in the local textile industry, retiring in the early 1970s. Beloved mother of Jose Souza, Jr. (wife Beverly) & John Souza; grandmother of Jose Souza, III, Keith, Matthew & Kimberly Souza; sister of Constance Farabini, Mindy Barreira, and the late John D. & Silvo V. Lopes, Hilda Lomastro & Lucreza Cabral. She also leaves: a loving daughter-in-law, Janet Souza; 2 great grandchildren, Jacob & Jessica; many nieces & nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday, January 29, in Holy Ghost Church, Tiverton. She was buried with her late husband at Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
