Elvira Teixeira, 83, of Berkley, widow of Manuel S. Furtado, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 6, 2021. Born in St. Michael, Azores, a daughter of the late Jose Gil Teixeira and the late Maria (Estrela) Teixeira, she emigrated to Fall River in 1997.

A nurturing homemaker, she was a talented seamstress, who especially enjoyed raising her grandchildren. Elvira will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by: three daughters, Anizalda Moniz (husband Jose) of St. Michael, Azores, Anabela Rocha (husband Marcos) of Fall River, and Lucia Goncalves (husband Mario) of Berkley, MA; five sisters, Maria Teixeira of Mosteiros, St. Michael, Azores, Irene Teixeira of Sao Rokue, St. Michael, Azores, and Gilda, Josephine & Evangelina all of Montreal, Canada; ten grandchildren, Ana, Emanuel, Bruno, Flavio, Mike, Chris, Anabela, Paul, Vera, and Vanessa ; ten great grandchildren, Alexander, Leonor, Sophia, Aubriela, Alonzo, Kingsley, Finley, Keano, Kaiden, and Victoria Teixeira; and several nieces & nephews. She was also a sister of the late Manuel, Jose & Estrela Teixeira.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 12th, in Espirito Santo Church followed by her committal and entombment at the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
