Emilia (Botelho) Borges, 94, of Fall River, died January 1, 2008 at the Crawford Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. She was the widow of Jose Borges. Born in Santo Antonio Alem Capelas, Sao Miguel, Acores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Olivia (Mello) Botelho. A resident of Fall River since her emigration in 1969, she worked as a housekeeper for the former Cliff Gables Nursing Home. She loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. Survivors include her sons, Fernando Estrella, Filipe, Jose M. and John Borges, all of Fall River and her daughter, Olivia M. Cordeiro of Fall River, 32 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Alberto M. Borges and sister of the late Antonio, Julio, Maria, Marianna, Filipe, Jestrudes, Palmira and Jose Botelho. Her funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2008 at St. Anthony of Padua Church Committal services followed at St. Patrick Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fransisco Cordeiro, Fernando Estrela, Filipe, Miguel, Nelson and Cesar Borges.
