Obituary

Emily M. Pacheco, 96, widow of Antone Pacheco, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Joao Soares and the late Capitalina (Pereira) Soares, she was a lifelong resident of Fall River.

A Marian Medal Award recipient, Emily was a devout Catholic and a very active parishioner of the former Our Lady of Health Church, where she was a member of the Women's Guild, the Holy Rosary Society, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society – also serving as a CCD teacher and Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of the Portuguese-American Veterans, the Our Lady of the Angels Senior Citizens Club, and the Happy Group Seniors Club.

Emily's true passion was her family, for whom she especially enjoyed cooking Sunday meals.

She is survived by: four children, Marjorie Aguiar (& James), Janice Arruda (& Michael), Ronald Pacheco (& Carma) & Deborah Correia (& Joseph) all of Fall River; four grandchildren, Melissa Allison, Jennifer Campbell, Ashley Gonsalves, and Taylor Pacheco; seven great grandchildren, Justin, Madison, Nickolas, Ella, Layla, Mia, and Emma; and several nieces & nephews. She was also the sister of the late Louis Soares, Joseph Medeiros & John Soares.

Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, January 26th, in Holy Trinity Parish Church followed by her committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
