Emma Nunes, 90, passed on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Somerset Ridge Nursing Center. Widow of Manuel R. Nunes & Joseph P. Santos, Jr. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Jacinto & Maria (Reis) Tavares. A lifelong resident of Fall River, she was employed as a weaver at the former Bourne Mills. Survivors included a daughter Joan E. Cabral of Dartmouth and husband Ronald, brother George Tavares (wife Marion) of Fall River and the late Eliza Botelho, Manuel & Antone Tavares. She was the grandmother to Kenneth J. Cabral (wife Jenn) & Kim Marie Mercure (husband Ralph S.), blessed with great grandchildren: Tyler J. & Shane Rocha, Joseph Barcellos, Alexis, Kailey & Brooke Mercure. She also leaves several nieces & nephews. Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church. Pallbearers Ronald and Kenneth Cabral, Ralph Mercure, Tyler and Shane Rocha, And Joseph Barcellos brought Emma to her final resting place at Notre Dame Cemetery.
