Emma Tavares, 93, formerly of County St., Somerset, passed away Sunday after a short illness. Widow of Daniel Tavares. Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph and Odilia Franco Mendonca. Beloved mother of JoAnn Rapoza (husband-Joseph) of Swansea, Michael Tavares (wife-Debra) of Dighton and Lawrence Tavares (wife-Carole) of Jacksonville, FL; sister of the late Aura Pacheco. She also leaves 6 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, May 23, in St John of God Church followed by her committal at St Patrick Cemetery in Somerset.
