Ernest Martin, age 92, passed away in Fall River, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. He was the husband of the late Angelina (Cordeiro) Martin and a son of the late Manuel Martin and the late Amelia (Souza) Martin. A graduate of Diman Regional Vocational School, he was a display manager for Ann & Hope and owned Visual Signs. Ernest was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. Inducted into the Service at Ft. Devens he completed Basic Training and attended Paratroopers Jump School at Ft. Benning in Georgia. He fought in Rhineland and Central Europe, assigned to Hq Battery 460th Parachute. An avid painter and traveler, he enjoyed making his own greeting cards, dancing, and gathering with his family. Survivors include his brother, Arnold Martin, and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Liz, David, Bob, Cat, Ana, Sylvia and Steward Hospice, who were involved with his care. His Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church. He was laid to rest at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River.
