Ernesto R. Pinto, 88, of Somerset, formerly of Swansea, husband of the late Maria (Martins) Pinto passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Somerset Ridge Nursing Center after a long illness.

Born in Biera Alta, Portugal, he was a son of the late Jose R. Pinto and the late Maria Das Dores.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a boat builder for Tillotson-Pearson for many years. He enjoyed working on his farm back in his homeland, fishing, and making his own wine. A very quiet and sincere man, Ernesto was always well-respected for his candid advice and opinions.

He leaves: his children, Lucinda Oliveira and her husband, Jose, of Swansea, Lucia Alves and her husband, Vitor, of Freetown, Jose M. Pinto and his wife, Maria, Antone Pinto and his wife, Sandra, and Fatima Oliveira and her husband, Herminio, all of Fall River; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Manuel M. Pinto and brother of the late Candida, Luisa, and Guimar.

His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, January 31st, in Espirito Santo Church followed by his committal at Notre Dame Cemetery.
